Job Details
Our Client a Global Communications Provider and Worldwide Leader has its UK Head Office Operation based in Gloucester.
Reporting into the Director of Accounting this extremely pivotal role is key to the successful production of Financial Reporting requirements throughout the Companies European Entities.
Responsibilities include:
Management of the dedicated Senior Accountant providing leadership, guidance, training & motivation
Accurate and timely monthly closing of the assigned EU entities
Assist with the provision of elimination entries for consolidation purposes
Provide analysis of data for transfer pricing and intercompany recharges
Overall responsibility for the timely production of monthly, quarterly & annual financial reporting information to management for assigned entities
Liaise with external auditors to complete both quarterly & full years audit reviews as elected by the Audit committee
Provide regular updates to the Director of Accounting on issues affecting EU Accounting
Ensure compliance with SOX by promoting and adhering to the Companys internal control procedures as appropriate, helping to refine and improve those controls related to the EU area
Ensure ongoing compliance with all local country statutory filing & income tax requirements
Local VAT compliance for all EU countries
Provision of information relating to assigned subsidiaries for forecasting purposes
Ad hoc special projects & tasks as assigned
Suitable candidates will have:-
Recognised German accounting qualification
Suitable experience of a similar role in a multinational organisation
Experience of managing entities in other European jurisdictions. Netherlands or Sweden would be an advantage
Excellent hands on knowledge of preparing accounts in German GAAP and IFRS
Exposure to US GAAP would be an advantage
Strong computer experience using Microsoft Office
Advanced excel user
Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
Skills and Knowledge
Strong current accounting and tax technical knowledge
Fluency in German and English is essential
Other European language would be an advantage preferably Spanish or Swedish
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
